Galations 2:6-7 (NLT)
I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself from the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News, but it it is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled to those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.
That verse above reminded me of those people from that so-called "church" who twisted God's Words when He said He hates sin. I firmly believe that Jesus died came to the earth, died on the cross for us, and then rose again three days later. Jesus did this for us because He loves us and did not want us to go to hell because "the wages of sin is death."
John 3:16 (NLT)
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
To break it all down, God loves everyone, but He hates sin. That "church" should not have gone to that funeral with all those signs. Jesus' love s for everyone no matter your race, your family background, you beliefs, or the deeds you have done. God is there for everyone, and He waits for everyone to call upon His name. Did I mention that God loves everyone? As Ian said, this is the YCF's first "battle." I wonder if we won. By the way, Shelby's birthday is in four days! Yay!
God bless you!

Wonder if we won? Hmm...I don't think we can "win" the battle at all, let alone in a couple of days. We have to get many more people to read our blogs, and even then, a lot of them will disagree.
Good verse about things pretending to be the Good News. I also recall several times int he New Testament where Jesus and/or his apostles warned us about many coming and saying "I am the Christ." I don't think he was talking about people...just look at all the horrible distractions from God that have swept over us.
:)Ian(:
that was really good....and i love that you sued the scripture from Galatians it seems to be perfect for this kind of discussion....great job on that thought!!
Ian- Jesus was def. talking about people, thats just the greek translation itself, but i do think that in the days of technology and inteligence and reason that the false prophets are coming through many different means than just..."I am the Christ"...oprah Winfrey has even applauded a book that basically teaches the whole jesus is just another enlightened man that other men chose to make a story about...this book is called the "new World" and teaches its readers to live in the new world where nothing is true until you reach the next level in your life...BULL...they had a online thingy for this crap (cuse my french) and ovr 5 million people signed up!!!
it is time to pray for a new awakening...its time yall!!!

amen, dcf! I fully agree. Oprah's making a bad choice, and millions of people will be affected by it.
dcf,
Yes, I know he meant people as well...I wrote that wrong in my last comment. I meant I don't think that it applies only to people.
You know, if the Bible is true, as we all know that it is, the world is soon to get really scary...but only christians are going to notice it.
:)Ian(:
yeah...got it...sorry if i accidentally stepped on your toes ian ;-)
anyway i think Jesus wasn't talking just about people...other things were going on back then that were leading people astray also
yeah its kinda unnerving...but in the end we only have good things to look to!!
