Raising Dragons is the first book in a four book series called Dragons in our Midst by Bryan Davis. Billy banister is called Dragon Breath at school for a very good reason, his breath is HOT! When his breath sets of the school sprinklers, Billy is sent home early and overhears a conversation that his father used to be a dragon, but were turned human by Merlin, a prophet in King Arthur's day, because the dragon slayers lust for their blood never ended. Billy learns he can breathe fire.
Bonnie Silver has known of her dragon heritage for years because her dragon wings are no small exception! She helps Billly to further understand his dragon gifts. When they are trapped on a mountain by a slayer that need their blood to live longer, they have to use their wits of survival, faith, and friendship to survive what is coming at them. Will they both make it out alive?
This is a great book that has helped me to understand God better and reminded me about how much God really loves us. He loves us so much He sent His only Son to die for us. He was whipped, beaten, tortured, and crucified just so we would not have to suffer the rest of eternity in hell. It says in the Bible in John 16:27:
"No, the Father himself loves you because you loved me and have believe that I came from God."
Come on, doesn't it just amaze you how much God really loves us. Think about how much your parents love you, well, God loves you a billion fold of that! He loves us so much it just makes me want to jump up and down in excitement. Still not convinced? Here is another verse in the Bible. John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life."
Don't you see how much God really loves us? God loves us more than anything, and wants to give us so much, and all we have to do is have one thing. Faith.
Remember God loves you! Thanks for reading!
God bless you!

Billy Banister is a typical teenage boy; trading tall tales with friends, occasionally late to class… and breathing fire. When Billy’s breath sets off the fire alarm in the restroom, his dad must tell him the truth about his past. This incident sparks a wild adventure full of unknown dangers. Together with the new girl Bonnie Silver, Billy is caught up in a centuries old danger. But how is his principal involved? And what is Bonnie hiding in her backpack? Read this book, the first installment of the Dragons in Our Midst quartet, and find out!
I loved how this book blended dragons, King Arthur and modern-day life. It made it seem like adventure may be just around the corner!
